This will be her third year taking the plunge\, and she’s determined to make it her biggest fundraising year yet.\n\nDuring the event\, $1 from every pour and all tips will be donated to support Dana’s fundraising efforts for the Mystic Aquarium Animal Rescue Program\, helping protect and rehabilitate marine animals right here in our region.\n\nCome hang out\, grab a pint\, meet Dana\, and help us turn a few beers into something that makes a real difference. That is why on Friday\, May 15 from 5-9 PM\, we are honored to team up with an organization that started right in our own backyard: Work Vessels for Vets.\n\nWe are bringing in John Niekrash\, the president and co-founder\, to hang out in the taproom. John’s story is awesome. Back in 2008\, as a commercial lobsterman out of Noank\, he decided to donate his own lobster boat to a returning Marine. From that single gesture\, Work Vessels for Vets was born. Today\, they equip veteran entrepreneurs across the country with the exact tools they need to start their civilian businesses—everything from laptops to tractors to commercial vans.\n\nHere is how we are raising money for them on the 15th:\n\n$1 from every single pour between 5 and 9 PM goes directly to Work Vessels for Vets.\n\n100% of all tips collected during those four hours will be donated to the cause.\n\nCome down\, grab a pint\, and meet John. We are kicking things off in a massive way to set the standard for the whole summer\, supporting the real-life heroes of our local coastlines:\n\n“The Summer Pour Tour will bring our Animal Rescue team to five local breweries\, vineyards\, and bars across Connecticut and Rhode Island throughout June\, July\, August\, and September. Each stop offers the chance to explore new local spots\, enjoy specialty pours\, meet members of our Animal Rescue team\, and support these incredible local businesses giving back — with a portion of proceeds from each evening benefiting marine animal rescue and rehabilitation efforts.”\n\n The Cause The Mystic Aquarium Animal Rescue Program does vital work right in our backyard. Since 1975\, they’ve been the primary 24/7 lifeline for sick\, injured\, and stranded marine animals across 1\,000 miles of local coastline. Their world-class team rescues\, rehabilitates\, and releases animals such as seals\, sea turtles\, and cetaceans and responds to over 500 hotline calls a year\n\n How You Can Help To start their summer tour off with a bang\, we are donating $1 from every pour and 100% of all bar tips during the event directly to the rescue program!
